Dear Members & Guests:
On Wednesday, May 23, the OC Forum hosted a luncheon on the topic of Cybersecurity featuring UCI's Bryan Cunningham, Southern CA Edison's David Coher, and the FBI's SSA Bryan Willett. Our event moderator was Richard Franzi.
In today's digital age, the number of threats faced by individuals, businesses, and public agencies increases every day. The largest obstacle in cybersecurity is the perpetual security risk that quickly evolves over short periods of time, leaving everyone with a widening gap in manpower and the resources needed to protect their data.
Amazon's Echo came up during the conversation and questioning the possibilities of such devices being hacked. Read the Washington Post 's article about an Echo recorded a family's conversation and sent it to a random person in their contacts all by itself.
